MUSCAT, JUNE 24

A new initiative to document Omani business and entrepreneurial success stories and promote the Sultanate of Oman as an investment destination has been launched by Mefriend, a digital initiative of a regional media house, with strategic support from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).

The ‘Inspire Oman’ initiative aims to highlight, document and promote outstanding Omani achievements in economic and social development, both locally and globally, while attracting foreign capital by showcasing investment opportunities in line with Oman Vision 2040.

The initiative was unveiled at a press conference at the Chamber’s headquarters in Muscat, attended by Shaikh Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of OCCI’s board of directors; Shaikh Saud bin Ahmed al Nahari, OCCI board member; Abdul Latif Mohiuddin Khonji, OCCI board member and chairman of its Foreign Investment Committee; representatives of Mefriend; and a number of business owners and entrepreneurs.

Al Rawas said Omani success stories represented one of the national economy’s most important strengths. “Every successful project, every entrepreneur, every investor and every institution that has contributed to building this nation is part of a success story worthy of being told, documented and shared with the world,” he said, describing Oman as an attractive destination for business and a trusted investment partner.

Khonji said the initiative sought to present a comprehensive picture of Oman’s investment environment by showcasing economic achievements, highlighting the experiences of entrepreneurs and national companies, and introducing investment opportunities across sectors. Building an inspiring national narrative, he added, would help strengthen investor confidence and improve the business environment.

The initiative is built around three pillars: a “Commemorative Publication” will document significant business journeys, milestones and leadership experiences; a “Celebrating the Experience” digital campaign will share videos, interviews and success stories across online platforms; and an “Inspire Oman Investors Summit” will convene officials, experts and investors from Oman, India and other countries for strategic dialogue, networking and collaboration.

Mohammed Ambalan, director of Mefriend, said the initiative aimed to document Omani success stories and pass on the lessons drawn from them. “We seek to transfer the expertise and lessons learned from these experiences in a way that enhances the culture of innovation and ambition among future generations,” he said.
